Da der Seekasten ge\u00f6ffnet wurde und eine Rauchpetarde im Kamin gez\u00fcndet wurde, sank das Schiff relativ gleichm\u00e4ssig, bis die vorderen Bullaugen die Wasserlinie erreichten. In diesem Bereich gab es keine Bullaugen, weshalb das Schiff zwangsl\u00e4ufig \u00fcber den Bug absinken musste.
